The East Lancs Railway held a Winter Diesel Day on 10th January 2009, using several of the Bury fleet of locos to operate the usual Saturday timetable. The first train to head north was the 09:50 Bury to Rawtenstall service, seen here at Irwell Vale behind BR Blue Class 33 No. D6525 'Captain Bill Smith RNR'.
