SECR "Family Saloon" No. 177 at Tenterden on the Kent and East Sussex Railway on 7th February 2015. Constructed at Ashford Works in 1900 this carriage was designed to be hired by wealthy families to take them and their servants on holiday. It would be attached to scheduled trains, and, where necessary, shunted from one train to another with the family still in residence!!
