Class 47/7 No. 47712 'Lady Diana Spencer' stands at the country end of Platform 2 at Glasgow Queen Station on 5th April 1985 at the head of a push-pull service to Edinburgh Waverley. She is in the latest Scotrail colours, and has a Edinburgh Haymarket TMD decal above the nameplate. It can clearly be seen how little space existed for these loco hauled services in the cramped confines of Queen Street Station with the front cab being right under the starting signal. No. 47712 has survived into preservation and can normally be found at Crewe Heritage Centre where she has recently been repainted into the Scotrail livery she carried in this image, complete with her 'Lady Diana Spencer' nameplates.
