In the early 1990's five Class 31/4 locomotives were painted into Regional Railways blue and grey livery for operating passenger services in the North West of England and North Wales. Seen here alongside Platform 11 at Crewe Station on 5th July 1994 is Class 31/4 No. 31465 which was the only one of the five not to carry a name. Originally delivered to BR in July 1960 as Type 2 No. D5637, she became Class 31/1 No. 31213 under TOPS and was converted and renumbered to Class 31/4 No. 31465 in February 1985. She subsequently passed to Network Rail during 1998 remaining in use on engineering test train duties until being offered for sale in July 2015. No. 31465 is currently owned by Harry Needle Rail Ltd and is stored at the Weardale Railway, County Durham in Network Rail yellow colours.
