To mark the last regular locomotive hauled Virgin cross country service Class 47/4 locomotives No. 47840 "North Star", running as No. 47077 in BR blue livery, and No. 47847 "Brian Morrison/ Railway World Magazine" in Large Logo livery, were used on the Penzance to Derby working on 19th August 2002. Here the 2 locomotives, with No. 47077 wearing the "Cross Country Locomotive Farewell" headboard arrive at their destination, Derby. Also seen stabled is Classmate No. 47818 "Strathclyde".
