Class 26 No. 26044 stands withdrawn at Inverness on 21st April 1984. The '26' was withdrawn due to fire damage in January 1984 during severe weather. New as No. D5344 at 64B Haymarket on 9th October 1959, after being built at BRCW Smetwick.The loco was withdrawn on 17th January 1984 and moved to Thornton Junction, Kirkcaldy in December 1984 for further storage before being sold to V.Berry in December 1986 who cut it up on site on 3rd February 1987.
