WD Austerity 0-6-0ST No. 68012 crosses the A5012 at Newhaven with six loaded limestone wagons on a journey on the Cromford and High Peak Railway from Middleton Top to Friden, just a short distance from Newhaven, on 27th April 1966. In this view the wooden cab cover can be seen on No. 68012, installed to protect the crew from the worst of the Winter weather on this line. Today walkers, cyclists, and horse riders have to watch for traffic when crossing the A5012 at this point on the High Peak Trail.
