At a time when railway photographic locations can be ruined by seemingly unrestricted tree growth it is good to report an improvement. Network Rail have removed a number of tall trees by Willington South footbridge that were restricting the train driver's view of the Nortbound signal at Willington Station, and some trees had rotting cores, and now there is a new view South at this bridge as seen here as Colas Rail Class 47/7 No. 47727 'Rebecca' passes on 29th July 2014 with the 14:50 Washwood Heath to Boston Docks empty covered steel carriers.
