On Monday 27th July 1992 Class 20 No. 20209 sits dumped in a siding alongside the Hunslet-Barclay Depot at Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. New to BR during May 1967 as No. D8309 and first allocated to York MPD she was transferred to Tinsley in October 1971 and renumbered under TOPS as No. 20209 in early 1974. By 1985, and now allocated to Bescot, a final move to Toton TMD was to follow before withdrawl during March 1989. Sold to Hunslet-Barclay and earmarked for conversion to Class 20/9 No. 20907, company plans changed and she was instead used as a source of spares for the rest of the fleet. Sold, along with the 6 operational Hunslet-Barclay Class 20/9s, to DRS in late 1998 she was eventually stripped for spares and scrapped by M Douglas Ltd of Carlisle in December 2001.
