The 22nd January 1978 finds Class 08 No. 08313 derailed all wheels having split a set of points moving around it's home Depot of Hamilton near Glasgow. I guess it happened the previous day as the loco is shut down, master swithch is off, inside the small open panel, and the Depot is deserted as normal on a Sunday morning. Built at Derby Works as No. D3383 in September 1957 it was first allocated just down the road at Motherwell MPD. Renumbered as No. 08313 during July 1974 it was by now a Hamilton based loco. No. 08313 was eventually withdrawn in May 1982 from Gateshead MPD on Tyneside and scrapped at BREL Doncaster Works during May 1983.
