Preserved Class J36 0-6-0 No. 673 Maude drifts through Glen Eilt on 28th May 1984 with a Fort William - Mallaig charter that only reached as far as Arisaig. Due to the excess weight of the train the locomotive had problems on the heavily graded route and caused innumerable fires that resulted in the proposed seasonal programme of work being curtailed to Fort William - Glenfinnan shuttles on a restricted basis.
