Class 101 DMCL No. 51540 lies totally burnt out and off it's bogies in Millerhill Yard on Sunday the 22nd January 1978. Delivered new to Leith Central MPD in September 1959 it's whole BR career had been spent in and around the Edinburgh area. It will be noted that the vehicle carried all over BR Blue livery and the lower headcode display had not been plated over before the fire which caused it's withdrawl in January 1977. This was to be it's final resting place as cutting up was completed in Millerhill Yard during March 1978.
