BR 'Western' diesel-hydraulic No. D1015 'Western Champion', with Class 47/7 No. 47773 as insurance, cautiously approaches a red signal at Stenson Junction on 22nd August 2013, prior to joining the Cross-country route. The train had traversed the the freight-only line from Sheet Stores Junction with the Vintage Trains-operated main line trial, a circular tour from Tyseley via Nuneaton, Leicester and Tamworth. It is believed to have been the first occasion that a 'Western' class diesel has operated a train over the freight-only route via Castle Donington.
