Class 47/4 No. 47532 stands at Cheadle Station (Staffordshire) the terminus of the closed route from Cresswell Junction, on the Crewe to Derby line, in readiness for returning to London Euston with a charter train, which it is understood to have operated in connection with proposed charter business for the nearby Alton Towers, on 28th March 1985. The variety of coaching stock comprised of Mk 1 variety numbering M4966/M4943/IC3132/IC6167/Pullman Car No. 347 and 353/PULR99129. The route from Cheadle to Cresswell Junction closed to passenger traffic in June 1963 and by 1985, freight traffic had also ceased to operate on the Staffordshire branch line.
