The first appearance of an HST on Cross Country services this season was on 17th May 2008 when 9V49, the 0805 Edinburgh to Plymouth was worked by 43007 with 43184 trailing. The former Midland Mainline set, which is one of those now allocated to the XC fleet, is due for refurbishment later this year. The train is seen calling at Cheltenham Spa.
