Since being opened in 2000, South Marston Euro Terminal has been a white elephant. On 23rd November 2024, GWR used it to berth the Night Riviera stock. Class 57/6 No. 57603 (with classmate 57602 trailing) makes an unusual sight between the GWML and the entrance to the terminal, in driving rain and wind during Storm Bert, along with poor light, with the 14:50 from Reading Depot.
