On 4th October 2024, the footbridge at Cogan makes an excellent backdrop as Class 231 No. 231008 calls with the 13:13 Bargoed to Barry Island. Note the height of the signal head on the opposite platform which appears to be needed to in view of the sharp curve on the approach.
