On 11th November 1987, Class 50s Nos. 50031 'Hood' and 50038 'Formidable' failed while working the 07:38 Didcot Parkway to London Paddington. Later in the morning, Class 47 No. 47334 is seen at Didcot East hauling the locomotives and empty coaching stock to Old Oak Common.
