On the 9th July 2023, Network Rail Test Train headed by Class 43 No. 43290 with classmate No. 43251 at the rear, pass the recently refurbished, historic and Listed Grade II, former Midland Railway signal box at Garsdale station, working from Derby RTC to Darlington Up S.S., via the S&C and the Tyne Valley.
