GWR 4073 Class No. 7029 'Clun Castle' prepares to depart Appleby on 22nd April 2023 working The Cumbrian Mountaineer Express railtour. The train arrived as the 0729 Birmingham New Street to Appleby where the passengers alighted before the train moved into the sidings for servicing. After a 2 hour break the train returned to the station before continuing north as the 1532 Appleby to Birmingham New Street. It is believed this is the first time Clun Castle has visited Appleby since 1967!.
