On 11th/12th February 2023, the Swanage Railway held a 'behind the scenes' Community Engagement Weekend which included freedom of the line tickets for local residents only at £10 per person. Additional trains were run over the four mile extension from Norden to River Frome bridge. On 12th February 2023, the Class 117 DMU passes under Holme Lane bridge, with the 13:30 from River Frome to Swanage.
