On the 4th February 2023, Merseyrail Class 507, No. 507008, departs from Ormskirk station with the 11.49 service from Ormskirk to Liverpool Central. Ormskirk station is single faced and is no longer a through station with the line being split by buffers, which can be seen to the rear of the EMU. This view is of the southern half, which is used by the Merseyrail third rail electric units. The Class 507 unit in this photograph is shortly to be replaced by the new Stadler Class 777 units.
