Having operated for the last few months with Class 43 power car traction, the four weekly 14.15 Blackpool North - Derby RTC Network Rail Test Train returned to Class 37 traction on 30th December 2022, when Colas Class 37s No. 37099 Merl Evans and 37175 (out of sight on the rear) were allocated and are seen arrives at in the goods loop at Hellifield where they will recess for around an hour before heading to Morecambe.
