On 10th August 2022, West Midlands Trains Class 730 Nos. 730008 and 730012 ventured on to the Cross City line south of New Street, going out to Redditch and Bromsgrove. They are seen joining the Redditch branch at Barnt Green working the first leg from Oxley Depot to Redditch.
