On 4th August 2022, Cross Country Class 221 No. 221128, passes South Wingfield on a service from Plymouth to Edinburgh. In the background, external repairs to Wingfield station by the Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust are now complete. Work will start soon on the restoration of the interior.
