The Railway Touring Company's 'Dorset Coast Express' excursions for the summer ocommenced on 21st July 2022. This train is the 08:45 from London Victoria, arrives at in Weymouth at 13:39. Usually planned to be steam hauled this first working is diesel operated due to a mainline steam ban imposed by Network Rail following a hot spell of weather with record high temperatures. Approaching Keysworth Bridge about a mile east of Wareham are a pair of WCRC Class 47 operating the excursion in top-n-tail configuration with No. 47772 'Carnforth TMD' leading and No. 47813 on the rear.
