On the 19th June 2022, Network Rail Test Train, with Class 43, No. 43299 at the front and classmate No. 43290 at the rear, approaches Darlington, having come from Hull. The infrastructure monitoring train will spend the night in Darlington Yard before heading north the next day. First to Newcastle and then into Scotland visiting Edinburgh and Glasgow before returning to Newcastle at 16.52.
