Passing the peak of Pen-y-Gent, LNER A3 Pacific No. 60103 'The Flying Scotsman' emerges from the fog bound Ribble Valley into glorious sunshine at Selside Common with the northbound Christmas train from Liverpool to Carlisle on 18th December 2021. With almost No. wind Flying Scotsman left a trail of smoke several miles long.
