A busy and atmospheric scene at Alresford station on the morning of the 1st May 2021, the second day of the Mid Hants Railway Spring Steam Gala. Both of the guest locos for the gala are seen together. Standing at the main platform is GWR 4575 Class 2-6-2T No. 5526 awaiting departure time for the first train of the day off Alresford, the 09:10 to Alton. Meanwhile in the Cattle Dock siding is GWR 5700 Class 0-6-0PT No. 4612 which had not long arrived light engine from Ropley. This loco will leave Alresford 65 minutes later with the 10:15 shuttle service to Ropley.
