On the 14th March 2021, a recent recruit to the Network Rail HST fleet, ex LNER Class 43 No. 43299, approaches Darlington on a test train from Derby to Heaton, Newcastle, visiting lines on Teesside on the way. Classmate No. 43062 "John Armitt", is at the rear of this train.
