From the summer of 2020 a series of transfer workings from Wolverton Works have passed through Hampshire and Dorset along the South West main line heading to Bournemouth T&RSMD. These transfer workings have been returning refurbished South Western Railway Class 442 EMUâ??s from Wolverton, after the installation of new traction equipment. In the early evening of the 5th March 2021, with the sun very low in the sky reducing light level significantly, the 09:42 Wolverton Centre Sidings to Bournemouth T&RSMD, thought by the photographer to be the penultimate ECS movement of these Class 442 units, sees Rail Operations Group Class 37/6 No. 37611 â??Pegasusâ?? drawing slowly and noisily through platform 2 at Poole, the signal ahead not yet showing clearance into the sidings. Once in the sidings the train will reverse and return No. 442404, the front of which can be seen attached behind the two barrier coaches and the translator vehicle, to the Bournemouth Depot.
