On, the 18th September 2020, a Colas Rail Freight Class 70 No. 70801 passes Maryport hauling empty china clay tanks from Workington Docks to Caledonian Paper at Irvine. This is a variation to the only service to Aberdeen Craiginches and is as a result of the tragic accident and line closure at Carmont to the south of Stonehaven.
