On 28th September 2019, the first day of the Isle of WightRailway 'Four island Classes' Gala, O2 Class 0-4-4T No. 24 'Calbourne' passes non-stop through Ashey, with the 13:39 from Smallbrook to Wootton. The locomotive would be withdrawn for overhaul after the gala and is expected to return in 2021 in Southern Railway green livery. The headboards replicate the last day of BR steam on the isle of Wight; 31st December 1966.
