The Gyermekvasút, or Budapest Childrens Railway, is am narrow-gauge railway running for c.7 miles in the Buda Hills to the west of the city. It was built from 1948 and is largely operated by children under adult supervision, although the trains are driven by adults. Steam locomotive No. 490.039, an 0-8-0T built in 1940 and originally used in Transylvania, is seen running around its train at the Széchenyi-hegy terminus on 16th September 2018.
