On 4th August 1968 BR Standard Class 5MT 4-6-0 No. 73069 was one of several locomotives used on the RCTS 'End of Steam Commemorative Tour' in the Manchester and Blackburn areas. To commemorate this event 50 years later Classmate No. 73156 was renumbered as No. 73069 and is seen at Kinchley Lane on 4th August 2018 with the 13:00 Loughborough Central to Rothley dining service at the Great Central Railway '50 Years since the end of BR steam' event. BR Standard Class 2MT Mogul No. 78018 was on the rear of this working.
