Seen on 9th September 1990, stored in a siding at Egginton Junction, were Class 45/1s No. 45126 No. 45146 and 45136, which (along with Classmates No. 45111 No. 45125, and No. 45148) had been taken from the scrap line at March to the Mickleover test line to be used as dead weight loads during Class 60 testing. Eventually taken to MC Metals at Glasgow for scrapping in 1992, the siding at Egginton had to be reconnected to the Stoke main line.
