An unidentified Class 120 DMU waits in the Porthcawl branch platform at Pyle on 10th August 1963, with the 14:22 (SO) to Bristol Temple Meads. The Porthcawl branch closed a month later and Pyle station was closed in 1964. A new station at Pyle was opened in 1994, located half a mile to the west of the original one.
