On 22nd July 2017, the Mountsorrel Branch signal at Swithland Sidings is lowered for the first time to allow a passenger working with Class 101 DMU set, units E51427, M50321, and E50266, to leave the branch line to join the mainline. The working was the 10:20 Mountsorrel to Rothley service.
