On the 16th June 2017, a new Class 800/0, bi-modal, 5 car unit No. 800012, is seen passing Darlington, while in the course of being delivered to the Great Western Railway. The unit is initially running from Merchant Park Sidings at the Hitachi factory in Newton Aycliffe to Doncaster Carr Iep Depot from whence it will travel to North Pole Depot in London, for testing and acceptance.
