Geismar EG04 personnel trolley No. 99709 909135-4 is seen here on 18th May 2015, standing outside its â??depotâ?? at Saughtree, Scottish Borders with its 4-wheel trailer. This unit is in working order. Saughtree lay on the North British Railways Border Counties Railway which connected the Newcastle to Carlisle line from Hexham to the Waverly Route at Riccarton Junction. The line was opened in 1862 as an alternative route between the North East and Scotland and totally closed in 1958. This is now a private house with former platform rooms providing B&B guest accommodation. A third of a mile of track has been laid and a train comprising a Ruston 4wDM diesel shunter, two pipe wagons and a guards van occasionally runs. It should be noted that this railway is privately owned and on private land and operates purely by invitation.
