Sunderland tram No. 16 waits at the tram stop at the main entrance building of Beamish Museum, County Durham on 15th December 2015. This vehicle was originally open topped when built in 1900 and the top deck was covered in after WW1. After the Sunderland tram system closed in 1954, the lower saloon spent some time as a football changing room and as a farm tool shed before being restored at Beamish and entering service in 2003.
