GWR 5101 Class 2-6-2T No. 4110 at Hirwaun on 9th August 1963, with a train from Neath Riverside to Pontypool Road. Passenger services on this route finished the following year, with the last trains running on 13th June 1964. The locomotive is one of ten of the class to survive into preservation, having been rescued from Barry scrapyard in 1979. In 2020, the locomotive moved to the East Somerset Railway for restoration, which should be completed in 2023, seeing it back in operation for the first time since withdrawal in 1965.
