The restaurant of the Pullman Lodge Hotel, Seaburn, Sunderland, now closed, consisted of three interconnected Pullman Cars, all with three axle bogies, which had been cosmetically restored. They are 'Sapphire' (entered service 1910), 'Padua' (1920) and 'Rosalind' (1921). Just before the hotel closed down they were in the process of being refurbished again but work stopped. Two of them, believed to be 'Padua' and 'Rosalind' without their names, are seen here, while the third is hidden between them and the building behind. The owners, Sunderland City Council, are trying to find buyers for them as the site is due to be redeveloped soon.
