With the lower quadrant semaphore in the off position, Class 50 No. 50048 Dauntless heads along the sea wall section at Teignmouth with the 09.20 Brighton - Penzance on 20th August 1983. The locomotive was withdrawn in July 1991 and scrapped a year later.
