For the "50th anniversary of closure" gala at the Great Central Railway LMS Stanier Black 5 4-6-0 No. 45305 was renumbered as Classmate No. 44984, which hauled the last through working from London Marylebone to Nottingham (and Manchester) on 3rd September 1966. 50 years on to the day No. 45305 as 44894 takes the 08:37 Loughborough Central to Leicester North working, running in the times of the 08:15 Nottingham Victoraia to Marylebone service, through Woodthorpe.
