DB Class 101 No. 101 130-3 is seen on the rear of a westbound 7 coach Inter City push pull service in Spandau Station, Berlin on 13th April 2008. 145 of these locomotives were built in Germany by Adtranz between 1996 and 1999 with a 220 km/h, 136 mph top speed. Of note is the amount of body streamlining to reduce wind resistance when travelling at high speed. As well as a raked cab front end the grey side panels on the roof conceal all of the roof equipment and most of the second, lowered, pantograph from the wind with the similarly coloured bogie side frame covers, extending down to mask the frames and cover the bogies down to the wheel bearings performing the same function.
