On 8th April 2016, the first day of the Swanage Railway Spring Steam Gala, GWR 2-8-0T No. 4247 (visiting from the Bodmin & Wenford Railway) is at Creech Bottom, with the 17:25 from the River Frome to Swanage. This was the first time that the railway had operated trains beyond Norden as far as the River Frome, just over a mile from Wareham.
