Withdrawn during December 1987 Class 45/1 No. 45144 is seen awaiting it's fate in Vic Berry's yard at Leicester on 5th June 1988 in the company of 2 Class 25's. Built at BR Crewe Works as Type 4 No. D55 during September 1962 she carried the name 'Royal Signals' from August 1965 until December 1973 when she was renumbered under TOPS as Class 45/1 No. 45144. Latterly allocated to Tinsley MPD, she regained her, hand painted, name as well as the white rose of Yorkshire Tinsley badge and 41A shedplate in the mid 80's. These can be seen towards the rear of the locomotive as can the deliver to Vic Berry Leicester label attached to her body side. She was scrapped in the yard later in the month. Of interest in the background are the two gutted Class 101 DMU vehicles, the top one displaying an Eastfield, Glasgow West Highland Terrier emblem.
