Class 170/5 No. 170509 enters Crewe Station from the north on a Liverpool Lime Street to Birmingham New Street working on Wednesday 22nd September 1999. Delivered in 1999 the unit appears to be very newly in service and is in its original Central Trains green, blue and yellow livery complete with the companies freephone telephone number on the side of both vehicles. 15 years later the unit is still based at Tyseley TMD Birmingham nowadays operated by London Midland Trains.
