On 28th May South-West Trains Class 444 No. 444010 waits at Platform 1b at Southampton Central for the arrival of a train from Weymouth, to which it will attach, then to depart at 10:30 for London Waterloo. In the adjacent Platform 2b, Southern Class 377 No. 377123 waits for its departure to Brighton, three minutes later, at 10:33. This week is the schools' half-term and South-West Trains has a day-returns promotion, which offers adult tickets for £14 and child tickets for £5, between any two stations on its network; this appears to have been quite popular and filled many seats and required extra services.
